The Say Cheese Scholarship is developed and awarded by Darleen Bailey Beard.

Want Darleen Bailey Beard to visit, but your school can’t afford it? Try the Say Cheese Scholarship Program! One Say Cheese Scholarship will be awarded each semester, making a total of two scholarships per school year.

To qualify for the Say Cheese Scholarship, send Darleen an email telling her WHY you want her to come to your school, what you’ll do to PROMOTE her visit in your school, and a FUN PHOTO showing your students or staff doing something fun and silly to promote her books or a photo of some creative artwork promoting her books. Put on your thinking cap--the more imaginative, the better!

Your school will be considered for these scholarships even if you have had visiting artists, storytellers, and/or illustrators.
