In Oklahoma:
$850.00 with book sales
$950.00 without book sales
This includes - four sessions of your choice. If you need more than four sessions per day, there is an extra fee of $150.00 per session.
Expenses: There are no expenses in the OKC metro area. Outside the metro area, expenses may include 55 cents per mile, toll fees, meals, and hotel.
Discounts are given for long-term engagements.
- If you book three days in your district, Darleen will give a free evening presentation of your choice.
- If you book five days in your district, Darleen will give the last day at 1/2 price.
Darleen will speak in your school during the day PLUS do an evening session, such as a Family Reading Night or Title One program. $1,000.00, and travel expenses.
Half (½) day in a school within the Oklahoma City Metro area, $500.00, no expenses. This is for two sessions, plus autographing. Only available for local schools in the morning.
Evening event only -- Please contact Darleen with the type of event you are planning and she will quote you a speaking fee.

Want Darleen Bailey Beard to visit, but your school can’t afford it? Try the Say Cheese Scholarship Program!
One Say Cheese Scholarship will be awarded each new school year. This means Darleen will visit your school free of charge - except for mileage and hotel (if applicable). If out of state, there could also be airfare, meals, and other expenses such as rental car, etc.
To qualify for the Say Cheese Scholarship, send Darleen an email telling her (1) WHY you want her to come to your school, (2) What you’ll do to PROMOTE her visit in your school, and (3) Send her a FUN PHOTO showing your students and/or staff doing something funny and silly to promote her books or a photo of some creative artwork your students have created to promote her books. (4) Be sure to include your name, school name, mailing adddress, and two contact phone numbers. Open to all library media specialists, teachers, principals, reading coaches, etc.

Your school will be considered for these scholarships even if you have had visiting artists, storytellers, and/or illustrators within the past year.

Please note: By sending Darleen your photo(s), your school is giving her permission to put your photo(s) on her website and other promotional materials such as brochures and flyers.
You will be notified by phone at the beginning of the school year if your school is chosen to receive a Say Cheese Scholarship. If applying for a scholarship after the school year has started, then your application will be considered for the following school year. Winning photo(s) and emails will be posted on this website.
